Unlock your upper back (T spine) using a foam roller and your breath. The breathing is important to get you body to relax and restore itself. For this mobilization it is important to keep your core engage and ribs from flaring out so that you target the correct area of your back. If you don’t you’ll end up getting motion in other areas which will make it appear like you’re getting an effective mobilization of that area but your body is compensating with your low back or neck to compensate for your tight upper back.
This takes just a few minutes and you’ll see that you will be able to reach over head and look up more easily. This helps restore your body after a workout, or if you’ve been stuck at a desk all day in a hunched over position.
